Parent's Right to Know

PARENT’S RIGHT TO KNOW

Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), signed into law on December 10, 2015, parents of children attending schools that receive Title I funding have important rights regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s teachers.

If a child is taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who does not meet state certification and licensure requirements for the grade level and subject area being taught—including certification obtained through alternative routes—parents must be notified.

This ensures that families remain informed and engaged in their child’s education and are aware of who is providing instruction in the classroom.

For more information about this requirement or questions about your child’s teacher’s qualifications, please contact the school office. Below are the following teachers who are not state certified teachers, you may select each teacher to retrieve official parent letter.
